Meet Sharifa Anozie

Sharifa Anozie is a two-time bestselling author, journalist, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker with more than two decades of experience in storytelling, media, and inspiring others to dream boldly.
Her passion for writing began at just 12 years old, when she interviewed prominent civil rights advocate Carolyn Goodman. A poem she wrote in Goodman’s honor received recognition from The New York Times and other publications and was featured in Community Works’ traveling Long Walk to Freedom exhibition.
A graduate of Penn State University, where she earned a B.A. in Journalism with distinction, Sharifa began her professional career in the highly competitive CBS Page Program in New York City. She worked across major television productions, including The Early Show, 48 Hours, BET’s 106 & Park, and the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, eventually securing a permanent position working alongside the show’s executive producer.
In 2012, Sharifa took a bold leap of faith, moving across the country to Los Angeles to pursue entertainment journalism. She joined The Hollywood Reporter, writing for print and digital platforms, covering Hollywood’s biggest events, and interviewing notable figures including Spike Lee, Idris Elba, Don Lemon, and Grammy Award-winning artist Ne-Yo.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2014 with the launch of The Sacred Word, a faith-inspired jewelry brand that helped her build a digital audience of more than 300,000 across platforms. In 2020, she published her debut children’s book, It’s In You: A Book for Big Dreamers, which became an Amazon bestseller within two months. She later released Sibling Love, continuing her mission to inspire and empower young readers.
Her latest book, Faith It To Make It: A Blueprint for Bold Moves, Breakthroughs, and Believing Bigger, shares the personal and professional experiences that shaped her journey, encouraging readers to embrace faith, overcome fear, and pursue their God-given purpose.
Beyond writing and entrepreneurship, Sharifa is passionate about public speaking, mentoring young people, and giving back to her community. Whether through her books, speaking engagements, or digital platforms, her mission remains the same: to inspire others to believe bigger, take bold leaps, and recognize the greatness within themselves.
Sharifa resides in the Los Angeles area with her husband, Jonathan, and their three children.
